Branding a Broker: How King's Dream Helped Dru Hill Stand Out in Seattle Real Estate

Investment-Focused, Community-Rooted
Dru Hill is an investment-focused real estate broker based in Seattle, WA. He's an award-winning broker and a community builder with a particular focus on housing single parents, veterans, and communities of color — work that depends as much on trust and reputation as it does on listings.
The Challenge: A Brand That Could Compete
The stakes are real: a national NAR member survey found Black agents' median sales volume running at roughly a quarter of their white counterparts' — a gap the industry ties as much to visibility and referral networks as to deal flow. Seattle's real estate market is hyper-competitive, and an independent broker is often going up against agents backed by big-brand marketing budgets. Dru came to King's Dream in the summer of 2022 for help making his own brand as recognizable and memorable as the families he houses — not a logo refresh, but a full identity built from scratch.
What King's Dream Built
Over several weeks of status meetings, King's Dream developed a complete brand identity for Dru Hill The Realtor: a primary logo with secondary, submark, and icon variations; a typography pairing and a five-color palette built for both print and digital use; and a full brand guidelines document to keep everything consistent going forward. That identity was carried onto business cards, postcards, and a “Your Dream Home” marketing flyer template — the everyday materials a broker hands across a table or leaves at an open house.
Alongside the brand work, King's Dream designed and built a new website, transferring full ownership to Dru in August 2022 once it was ready — giving him a digital front door that matched the new identity from day one.
“Every broker is asking people to trust them with one of the biggest decisions of their lives. Dru's brand needed to say investment-grade professionalism and community roots in the same breath — that's what we built for him.” — Jawan Harris, Founder & Managing Partner, King's Dream Business Consulting
The Takeaway
An independent broker's brand is often the only thing standing between them and a bigger-name competitor — and for a broker building trust in underserved communities, that brand carries even more weight. A cohesive identity — logo, color, type, and a website that all say the same thing — is what turns a single agent into a name people remember, trust, and refer.
