From Verified Goals to Viral Reels: Growing Reuben Lael's Social Media Presence

An Artist Who Needed a Content Engine
Reuben Lael is a Dallas-based singer-songwriter and personal brand, releasing original music and building his own following one post at a time. Like a lot of working artists, he had the talent and the releases — what he didn't have was a consistent, planned presence on social media to go with them.
The Work: A Real Content Calendar, Run Every Month
Starting in late 2021, King's Dream took over Reuben's Facebook and Instagram accounts under our Essentials social media plan: a monthly content calendar, written copy and hashtags for every post, graphic design, and a monthly performance report so the plan could keep adjusting to what was actually working.
The Results: Numbers That Moved With the Music
The clearest proof point came in July 2022, the month Reuben's single “Winning” was released. Facebook engagement rose 1,400% and reach rose roughly 3,000% that month; on Instagram, reach climbed 258% and engagement 42.5%, with Reels identified as the format driving most of the growth. Two months earlier, in May 2022, Facebook engagement was already up 740% with reach up 244%, while Instagram picked up 35 net new followers — along with a formal application for Instagram verification.
The pattern held across the engagement: releases paired with planned content and Reels consistently outperformed quiet months, which is exactly what a content calendar is supposed to do — make sure the biggest moments land with an audience that's already paying attention.
“An artist's social media shouldn't go quiet between releases. The job is to build the audience in the gaps, so that when the music drops, there's already a room full of people ready to listen.” — Jawan Harris, Founder & Managing Partner, King's Dream Business Consulting
The Takeaway
A release is only as big as the audience waiting for it. For an independent artist, a consistent content calendar — not just a post the day something drops — is what turns a single into a real spike instead of a quiet one.
